Information We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of personal information to provide our services and ensure legal compliance:
Contact Information
- Email address: Required to deliver requested resources (UX Bootcamp Decision Scorecard, 3 Bonus PDFs when applicable) and for newsletter communication (if you have consented)
- Name: Optional, collected only when voluntarily provided in contact forms
Technical Data (Automatically Collected)
- IP address: Collected at signup and email confirmation for security, fraud prevention, and geolocation
- Timestamps: Exact date and time of form submissions and email interactions to document consent
- Country/Region: Derived from IP address to ensure regional compliance
- Form version and Privacy Policy version: We track which versions you saw when providing consent (e.g., scorecard_v3.7_spacing_final_en, privacy_v2.0) for compliance documentation
Email Interaction Data
- Email delivery status: Whether emails were successfully delivered, opened, or bounced
- Engagement metrics: Email opens and link clicks to understand content relevance
- Subscription status: Your consent status for newsletter (active, unconfirmed, or unsubscribed)
- Unsubscribe requests: Date and method of any opt-out requests
This data enables us to provide requested services, maintain security, and demonstrate compliance with international privacy regulations.
How We Use Your Information
We process your personal data for specific purposes, each with its own legal basis:
Transactional Communications
Purpose:
- Delivery of requested resources (UX Bootcamp Decision Scorecard, 3 Bonus PDFs when applicable)
- Service-related notifications and technical support
- Response to contact form inquiries and customer service requests
Legal Basis: Legitimate Interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) – You explicitly request the free resource, and we have a legitimate interest in delivering it. For support requests, we rely on Performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
Marketing Communications (Only with Your Explicit Consent)
Purpose:
- UX newsletter with educational insights, career tips, and course recommendations
- Delivery of bonus resources (3 Bonus PDFs) to newsletter subscribers after email confirmation
- Promotional offers for UX courses and bootcamp programs
- Educational content updates and exclusive resources
Legal Basis: Your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) obtained via separate checkbox on our forms
Important: We offer two ways to access our resources:
- UX Bootcamp Decision Scorecard: Available immediately without newsletter subscription. Marketing consent is optional and separate.
- 3 Bonus PDFs Package: Available exclusively as a welcome benefit for newsletter subscribers. Requires newsletter subscription and email confirmation via double opt-in.
You choose which resources to request based on your preferences.
Website Analytics and Improvement
Purpose:
- Understanding how visitors use our website to improve content and user experience
- Anonymous traffic analysis and performance measurement
- Content effectiveness analysis and conversion optimization
Legal Basis: Your consent through our cookie banner (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) or legitimate interest for anonymous analytics (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))
You can withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any newsletter email. This will not affect your access to previously downloaded resources or our ability to respond to your inquiries.
Newsletter Subscription and Double Opt-in Process
To ensure that only people who genuinely want our newsletter receive it, we use a double opt-in process:
Process:
- Initial Consent: You provide explicit consent via a separate checkbox on our forms (never pre-selected). This is optional for the Scorecard but required to receive the “3 Bonus PDFs” which are an exclusive newsletter subscriber benefit.
- Immediate Resource Access:
- For the Scorecard form: You get instant access to the UX Bootcamp Decision Scorecard regardless of newsletter choice
- For the “3 Bonus PDFs” form: You will receive the bonuses only after confirming your subscription
- Confirmation Email: If you opted for the newsletter (either standalone or to receive the 3 Bonus PDFs), we send a confirmation email to verify your email address.
- Active Confirmation: You must click the confirmation link to activate your subscription.
- Subscription Activated: Only after confirmation do you receive bonus resources (if applicable) and begin receiving our newsletter.
Documentation: We maintain detailed records of your consent including timestamps, IP addresses, form versions, and confirmation actions to demonstrate compliance with GDPR, CASL (Canada), and international privacy standards.
If you do not check the newsletter box or do not confirm your email, you will not receive bonus PDFs or newsletter emails. For the Scorecard form, you still have full access to the scorecard without newsletter subscription.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your data only with trusted service providers under appropriate data protection agreements:
Email Service Provider
- Provider: MailerLite (UAB “MailerLite”, Lithuania, European Union)
- Data shared: Email address, name (if provided), consent preferences, email interaction data, IP addresses, timestamps
- Purpose: Deliver scorecard, 3 Bonus PDFs, newsletter (if subscribed), manage subscriptions, and track email performance
- Technical Integration: MailerLite uses webform scripts (webforms.min.js), technical endpoints (form submission and “takel” tracking requests), and form interaction monitoring to ensure proper form functionality, prevent abuse, and document submission events. This technical processing is based on our legitimate interest in service delivery and security (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Legal safeguards: Data Processing Agreement in place, GDPR-compliant EU-based provider
Website Analytics
- Provider: Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA)
- Data shared: Anonymized browsing behavior, general location data (country/region), device information
- Purpose: Understand website usage, improve user experience, and optimize content
- Legal safeguards: Complete blocking of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager prior to consent (no data collection without explicit approval), Standard Contractual Clauses for EU-US transfers
Google Tag Manager Integration
We use Google Tag Manager as a centralized system to manage website analytics and link tracking. This allows us to:
- Track internal navigation patterns to improve site structure
- Monitor which content and links are most valuable to visitors
- Analyze user journeys to optimize the user experience
- Manage analytics configurations centrally
Google Tag Manager Container: GTM-MQLL5F2
All tracking tags within Google Tag Manager respect your consent choices and activate only after you approve the “Analytics” category through our cookie banner. The GTM container itself is completely blocked until explicit consent is provided.
Data collected includes: Page interactions, link clicks, navigation patterns, scroll behavior (all anonymized and aggregated for analysis).
Legal Basis: Your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) obtained via “Analytics” category in our cookie banner.
The GTM container loads Google Analytics 4 and other analytics tools only after consent is granted. You can withdraw consent at any time through our cookie banner settings, which immediately stops all tracking activity managed by Google Tag Manager.
Cookie Consent Management
- Provider: Complianz (Complianz B.V., Netherlands)
- Data shared: Cookie consent choices, preferences, and consent timestamps
- Purpose: Manage cookie preferences and maintain compliance with GDPR and international cookie regulations
- Legal safeguards: Standard Contractual Clauses
Affiliate Tracking (When Applicable)
When you click affiliate links to enroll in UX bootcamp programs, the provider may receive referral source information. We disclose affiliate relationships at the point of click and in our Affiliate Disclosure statement.
Legal Disclosures
We may disclose your information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our policies, prevent fraud, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including Google Analytics (USA).
When we transfer your data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Additional security measures including encryption and access controls
- Adequacy decisions where applicable
MailerLite processes data within the European Union, so no international transfer occurs for email services.
